Job summary

Istss in Miami, FL is hiring a Care Assistant in Psychiatry for a partial-year assignment (September through June, with June–September off). You will assist patients with daily living activities and help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment under RN supervision.

Qualifications

• CPI training completed prior to orientation in Psychiatry.
• American Heart Association BLS certification maintained throughout employment.
• Level II background check and affidavit of good moral character.
• Complete the basic hours of orientation plus 12 hours of in-service training during first year.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Document significant observations and prepare reports for RN.
• Support intake and admission paperwork.
• Conduct group sessions with a preset agenda.
• Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviors.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.
