Job summary

MePA in Miami seeks a Psychiatric Care Assistant to support daily living activities and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients, families and staff.

The role involves assisting with daily care, documenting observations, and communicating changes to the RN. You will participate in group sessions and support treatment plans under supervision while ensuring confidentiality and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• CPI training completed prior to orientation.
• BLS certification current.
• Background check conducted and cleared.
• Orientation and 12 hours of in-service training within first year.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Document significant occurrences and observations in patient charts.
• Communicate patient behavior changes to RN and team.
• Lead or participate in scheduled group sessions with a set agenda.
• Provide de-escalation techniques and therapeutic interactions.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized patient environment.
• Support admission paperwork and routine clinical tasks under RN supervision.
