Job summary

Intermountain Health Utah Valley Hospital is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to support a multidisciplinary treatment team. You will provide direct patient care, assist with daily living tasks, monitor patients, and help maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu on the Behavioral Health unit.

The position requires BLS certification, and experience with psychiatric or chemically dependent patients is preferred.

Qualifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
CNA or EMT preferred.
Post high school education in social work, psychology, sociology, family studies, or a health sciences field.
Experience with psychiatric or chemically dependent patients preferred.
Experience providing behavioral healthcare services for patient populations.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with daily living tasks and document delegated care promptly.
May monitor vital signs and provide limited medical intervention under supervision.
Orient patients to the unit, inventory belongings, and transport to appointments/activities.
Demonstrate effective communication with patients, families, and staff.
Report changes in patient condition to clinical staff.
Maintain safe, clean environment and comply with safety protocols.
