Job summary

BayCare Health System in the Tampa Bay area seeks a Mental Health Technician for the Prime Pool at SIPP Behavioral Health in New Port Richey, FL. This hourly pool position supports nursing staff by delivering direct patient care, observation and therapeutic interaction during night shifts.

Under RN supervision you will monitor patients, promote safety, assist with daily living activities, and document observations.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Florida driver’s license required.
• Associate’s degree in healthcare/psychology preferred.
• CNA/PCT credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under RN supervision.
• Monitor and observe patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Promote communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.
• Assist with physical care under the direction of an RN.
