Job summary

Indiana Regional Medical Center, Inc. is seeking a part-time Behavioral Health Tech for Mountains Behavioral Health in Indiana, PA.

You will support direct patient care, monitor conditions, take vital signs, and assist with therapeutic activities under nursing supervision. Responsibilities include ensuring a safe unit environment, communicating with patients and families, transporting patients when needed, and providing life skills teaching.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year in behavioral health preferred.
• Previous health care experience preferred.
• Psychiatric work experience preferred.
• Valid PA driver’s license with no violations
• BLS required or attained within 1 month of hire

Responsibilities

• Exemplify IRMC mission, vision, and values, acting in accordance with IRMC policies and procedures to ensure quality care is provided.
• Identify each patient’s age-specific needs and provide appropriate care as assigned
• Providing direct patient care including monitoring their conditions, taking vital signs, observing, recording, and reporting behaviors under the supervision of nursing.
• Leading patients in therapeutic and recreational activities.
• Assist with teaching life skills.
• Help to provide a safe and secure unit environment for all patients and staff in compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Utilizing excellent interpersonal communication skills to effectively communicate with patients, family, and report any concerning events to members of the organization.
• Will be required to float to all units, including geri-psych, adult, and adolescent.
• Identifying each patient’s age-specific needs and providing appropriate care as assigned
• Responsible for patient transports to and from hospital departments (including the medical center) and for delivery of supplies to departments as necessary
