Job summary

IRMC Mountains Behavioral Health in Pennsylvania seeks a Registered Nurse to coordinate direct patient care in line with Nursing Care Standards. The role requires active involvement in interdisciplinary plans, patient rights, and family education.

You will float across geropsych, adult, and adolescent units, leading groups and coordinating with physicians to refine treatment and discharge plans while upholding professional nursing standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• 1 year med-surg and/or 1 year geriatric experience.
• 1 year of behavioral health experience.
• Possess current PA RN license or pass boards within 6 months.
• BLS required or obtained within 1 month of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, reassess, and record patient care per interdisciplinary treatment plan.
• Apply age-specific needs and adhere to applicable standards and patient rights.
• Lead or co-lead therapeutic groups and provide patient/family teaching.
• Collaborate with physicians and other disciplines to develop discharge plans.
• Function as charge nurse as assigned and float to geropsych, adult, and adolescent units.

Job description

The Registered Nurse coordinates the provision of direct patient care according to Nursing Care Standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

In this role you will be:

• Assessing, planning, implementing, reassessing, and recording patient care in accordance with the interdisciplinary treatment plan.
• Using thorough knowledge of age-specific needs, care of mentally ill persons, Chapter 5100 of the M.H. Procedures Act, CMS and CIHQ standards, voluntary, involuntary, patient rights and confidentiality.
• Proficient in therapeutic 1:1’s.
• Leading or co-leading therapeutic groups/activities and providing patient/family teaching.
• An active member of the interdisciplinary treatment team where you are expected to work collaboratively with physicians and other disciplines to develop, implement, and revise each patient’s interdisciplinary treatment and discharge plan.
• Directing and assisting all other disciplines and provide leadership to ensure professional nursing standards are maintained.
• Exemplifying the IRMC mission, vision, and values, acting in accordance with IRMC policies and procedures to ensure quality care is provided.
• Utilizing excellent interpersonal communication skill to effectively communicate with patients, family, and members of the organization.
• Assisting in providing patient and family education.
• Able to function as the charge nurse as assigned.
• Will be required to float to all units, including geropsych, adult, and adolescent.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• EXPERIENCE:
  • 1 year med-surg experience and/or 1 year geriatric experience
  • 1 year of behavioral health experience
• LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
  • Possess current license as an RN in Pennsylvania or must pass nursing boards within 6 months of hire.
  • BLS required or obtained within 1 month of hire.

Shifts:

• Rotation - 12's Full time and Part Time Status available
