Job summary

Discovery Behavioral Health in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Behavioral Health Tech I (BHT I) to assist and support patients through the treatment experience from admission through discharge. The role includes ensuring patient safety, providing interventions, leading psychoeducational groups, and supporting patients.

Full-time position based in Tacoma, with Friday-Tuesday 7am-3:30pm schedule. Requires High School Diploma, valid driver’s license, CPI, CPR/AED/First Aid certifications, and adherence to

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Valid and unrestricted State Driver's License.
• Must obtain CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
• Must obtain and maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications.
• Substance Use Division: minimum 1 year sobriety if in recovery.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety and provide interventions.
• Lead psychoeducational groups and support treatment planning.
• Assist Nursing staff with duties and supervision.
• Monitor patient activity and document shift notes and group notes.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
