Job summary

InspireKids is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to support children in our structured, therapeutic program. You will work closely with the clinical team to reinforce treatment goals and promote positive behavioral, emotional, and social development.

Responsibilities include supervising children per individualized plans, maintaining a safe environment, participating in groups and skill-building activities, and documenting progress in the EHR while ensuring HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and support to children in accordance with individualized treatment plans.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment at all times.
• Support daily program activities, including therapeutic groups, skill-building activities, transitions, meals, and community outings as assigned.
• Reinforce treatment goals, behavior support plans, and therapeutic interventions identified by the clinical team.
• Assist children in developing coping skills, emotional regulation, social skills, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• Utilize trauma-informed behavior management, de-escalation, and crisis intervention techniques to support positive outcomes and ensure safety.
• Monitor and communicate observations regarding child behavior, participation, progress, and significant concerns.
• Complete daily progress notes, behavioral observations, incident reports, attendance records, and other required documentation accurately and within established timeframes.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) in accordance with agency, Medicaid, and regulatory requirements.
• Model appropriate social, emotional, and behavioral skills while building positive therapeutic relationships with children.
• Collaborate with therapists, case managers, nurses, caregivers, and other treatment team members to support continuity of care.
• Assist with family engagement, care coordination, and skill development activities as assigned.
• When qualified and assigned, provide billable behavioral health services in accordance with treatment plans, agency policies, and payer requirements.

• Participate in staff meetings, training, supervision, and professional development activities.

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) at InspireKids plays a key role in supporting children throughout their behavioral health journey. BHTs help create a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment while reinforcing treatment goals and promoting positive behavioral, emotional, and social development. Working closely with the clinical team, BHTs support daily program activities, therapeutic groups, skill-building interventions, and behavior management strategies. Through consistent engagement, positive role modeling, and individualized support, they help children build coping skills, improve functioning, and make meaningful progress toward their treatment goals. When qualified and assigned, BHTs may also provide billable behavioral health services in accordance with agency policies and payer requirements.
