Job summary

Harmony Health Group is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to support Facility Director and treatment program staff in coordinating day-to-day operations and patient care at the Seymour facility.

The role involves assisting with intake procedures, monitoring, safety checks, and transportation when required, while complying with state and federal regulations. A valid driver’s license may be needed for some duties and the team emphasizes safety and ethical care.

Qualifications

• Required to maintain up to date certification.
• CPR, Verbal De-Escalation, HIPAA, HIV/AIDS, Incident Reporting, Infection Control, Overdose Prevention, and Self-Administration of Medications (when applicable).
• Ability to work as a team member and have communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under stressful conditions and be flexible in relation to department needs.
• Knowledge of TJC standards within the Department.
• Demonstrates Proficiency in Verbal and written Communication Skills.
• Knowledge of State and Federal Statutes Regarding Patient Confidentiality Laws.
• Ability to understand and abide by the Drug Free Workplace Policies.
• Ability to complete the Harassment and Discrimination training.
• Knowledge of Corporate Integrity and Compliance Program.
• Knowledge of current technology.
• Knowledge of Substance Use Disorder. Can score above a 70% on the SUD Training.
• Familiar with community resources.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the supervision of patients in their daily activities.
• Ensure patients follow the clinical schedule and communicate issues to the treatment team.
• Transport clients when applicable, with a valid driver’s license and adherence to safety rules.
• Conduct vehicle and client safety checks before transporting or using a vehicle.
• Observe and document medications taken by clients during scheduled times.
• Maintain overall facility safety and report suspected abuse, neglect, or safety issues.
• Help prepare rooms and common areas for admissions and discharges.
• Support a respectful, ethical treatment environment and collaborate with the treatment team.
