Job summary

Rite of Passage Team in Costa Mesa, CA is seeking a Behavioral Health Specialist for the Southern California Treatment Program to support youth with mental health rehabilitation and community transition.

You will lead treatment and skill-building groups, deliver individual rehab, and coordinate with social workers, probation officers, and health providers while developing each resident's treatment plan and monitoring day-to-day progress.

Pay: Rate starting at $25.00 per hour

• You will be eligible for Medical insurance on the first of the month following 60 days of full-time employment.
• You will be eligible for the rest of the Rite of Passage Benefits Package immediately after 90 days of full-time employment

What you will do:

• You will be responsible for providing mental health rehabilitation and support services to our residents to ensure stability and successful transition back to the community.
• You will conduct treatment/skill building groups, individual rehab (skill building) services, support with educational/vocational and supplemental mental health linkage and referrals.
• You will participate in developing and supervising each residents individual treatment plan, including day-to-day monitoring, and coordinate services with social workers, probation officers, medical/mental health providers, and other institutions.

To be considered you must:

Demonstrate empathy, patience, and respect, along with a genuine desire to work with troubled teens.

• ~ Successfully pass a criminal background check, drug screening, physical exam, and TB test.
• ~ Hold a current State Drivers License with an acceptable driving record for the past three years.
• ~ Retain one of the following combinations: An Associates degree with six years of related experience, a Bachelors degree with four years of related experience, or a Masters degree with two years of related experience. Relevant experience includes working with youth in a mental health setting as a specialist in the fields of physical restoration, social adjustment, or vocational adjustment.

Information regarding Schedule/hours/shifts:

Shifts: Monday – Friday 9:00 am - 6:00 pm (two late days 10:00 am - 7:00 pm)
