Job Summary:

Acuity is looking for a Behavioral Health Specialist to support our contract in the Republic of the Marshall Islands.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides medical services at the scope and level of a Behavior Health Specialist to preserve the health of employees and client personnel.
  • Educates the workforce about mood disorders, such as depression and anxiety.
  • Counsels clients/patients with personal, behavioral or psychological problems.
  • Provide tools for managing marital and family issues from OCONUS work sites.
  • Preventive care such as Education program, employee assistance and coaching to help those at-risk remain healthy and productive.
  • Work with allied providers, employees and families to provide care coordination and intensive or targeted care management to ensure that the supported workforce receives the most appropriate and most effective treatment.
  • Collects and records psychosocial and physical data and assists with care and treatment of behavioral or psychological problems.
  • Plans and develops programs to address emergent behavior health issues.
  • Stress management.
  • Grief counseling.
  • CISD/CISM services for critical incidence.
  • On call for emergencies.
  • Manages administrative aspects of Behavioral Health programs and related activities.
  • Provides behavior health education to selected, high risk groups.
  • Coordinates requests for Behavioral Health Services provided remotely and facilitates service delivery through the most effective technology available (e.g., telemedicine, conference call, video conference).
  • Serves as technical advisor for planning and presenting behavioral health programs.
  • Attends and participates in a variety of meetings and task force groups to improve quality and outcomes, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, new task efforts, and new policy requirement.
  • Records and maintains patient information in accordance with standard protocols, and the Privacy Act.
  • Thoroughly exercises skills in initiative, judgment, problem-solving and decision-making daily.
  • Demonstrates proven success in stressful environments.
  • Pursues professional development activities and continuing education to ensure currency with present practices and trends in healthcare and specifically in the practice of emergency medical treatment.
  • Protects patients' privacy through confidentiality, infection control procedures, assuring consistent medication administration, and assuring proper storage and maintenance procedures for all equipment and supplies.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 5 years minimum recent experience delivering behavioral health services.
  • Master's degree from an accredited school in professional counseling/psychology or related field.
  • Hold and maintain an active and unrestricted License and the ability to be favorably credentialed by Acuity policy.
  • Must be current in all required certifications.
  • Specialty and/or experience in trauma (PTSD, Acute Traumatic Stress).
  • Experience with Military and/or Law Enforcement personnel and/or experience serving as or working as a Military Mental Health Specialist.
  • Experience with Employee Assistance Program (EAP) type issues.
  • Have extensive experience with varied treatment modalities (i.e., visualization, EFT, yoga, EMDR, etc...) and incorporate that in behavioral health care practices.
  • Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized, and have excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to sudden changes and flexibility in work requirements to include potential shift changes based on operational needs and/or command priorities.
  • Ability to work well with senior management and across functions to achieve business objectives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Requires a favorable security background check and drug screen.
  • Shall demonstrate proficiency in the use of basic word processing programs and the Acuity Medical Management Systems software.
  • All health care providers and medical support staff must have recent clinical experience in patient care for at least 6 months out of the past year.
  • Must have a valid, current U.S. Driver's License.
  • Must have a valid U.S. Passport with no less than 6 months remaining before expiration.
  • Shall be proficient in the ability to speak, write, and communicate in English.
  • Requires a favorably adjudicated CNACI investigation conducted by the Department of Defense.
  • Must sign an International Assignment Agreement (IAA) and is bound to the terms and conditions of the IAA.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:
  • Must be confirmed by a medical examination to be "medically and dentally fit" in accordance with Acuity Medical Readiness Guidelines and Policies and/or as directed by the Client.
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment; travel to Kwajalein is required by air.
