Job summary

CMU Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Specialist (LMSW) to join our OB/GYN & Pediatrics team at the Women’s & Children’s facility in Michigan. This full-time role focuses on integrating behavioral health into patient care and improving outcomes for patients and families.

The position requires an MSW with an active LMSW license in Michigan, 3+ years in social work, CPR certification, and a Perinatal Mental Health Certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months).

Qualifications

• Must hold MSW and LMSW in Michigan.
• 3+ years in social work in primary care/outpatient or hospital settings.
• CPR Certification required and Perinatal Mental Health Certification preferred or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct behavioral and developmental health screenings and assessments.
• Support patients and families in managing diagnoses and accessing resources.
• Provide brief interventions to assist with behavioral and lifestyle changes.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop patient-centered care plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation for behavioral health services.
• Advocate for patients and connect them with community services.

What We're Looking For

• Education & Licensure:
  • Master's degree in social work (MSW)
  • Active LMSW license (Michigan)
• Experience:
  • 3 + years in social work (preferably in primary care, outpatient, or hospital settings)
• Certifications:
  • CPR Certification (American Red Cross or AHA)
  • Perinatal Mental Health Certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire)
• Skills:
  • Strong patient advocacy, case management, and collaboration abilities
