THE POSITION:

Tri-City Mental Health Authority is looking for BehavioralHealth Specialists (BHS) for ALL DEPARTMENTS. The BHS will providea variety of rehabilitative support services to clients to facilitate behavior modification, skill building, and self-care and safety in individual and/or group settings.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Provides individual, group, family, and collateral rehabilitative support services to facilitate behavior modification including skill building, needs assessment, self-care/safety, and coping strategies and techniques; may provide case management services in the office and in the field.
  • Develops, monitors, and evaluates client rehabilitative and case management goals and increases/decreases in targeted behavior according to client needs; monitors goal progress/regression.
  • Provides linkages, resources, and referrals to address basic needs and other barriers to wellness and recovery including food, housing, clothing, transportation, and other financial resources.
  • Encourages and supports clients to fully engage in services; provides outreach and assists clients in addressing and overcoming barriers to treatment.
  • Plans and facilitates and/or co-facilitates group sessions for clients and community members focused on skill building; tracks client attendance and follows-up with individual clients, as necessary.
  • Provides advocacy for clients to ensure inclusion in all aspects of the community including socialization, employment, education, and housing to meet client needs.
  • Equivalent to an associate degree from an accredited college with major coursework in psychology, sociology, social work, criminal justice, or related field.

Experience:

  • Two (2) years of experience providing behavioral modification, physical restoration, social adjustment, or vocational adjustment services to clients in a behavioral health setting.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Possession of a valid California Driver’s License, a satisfactory driving record, and a properly registered and insured vehicle, to be maintained throughout employment.

Candidates must beproficient in Microsoft Word and have experience with Electronic Health Records (i.e. Welligent, Cerner, etc.).

Bilingual in Spanish is preferred, but not required.

Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, abilities and skills may be considered as qualifying. *Candidates may be hired above the minimum salary range depending on qualifications (DOQ).

Sign-on Bonuses: $2500 for eligible positions.

Merit Salary Increases: Annually based on performance, budget availability and supervisor approval.

CalPERS Pension: 2% @ 55 for Classic Members and 2% @ 62 for PEPRA Members; employee contributes 7% for Classic and 7.75% for PEPRA. No Social Security.

Vacation: 80 hours per year, increasing with years of service with a maximum of 240 hours; cash out option available.

Sick Leave: Full-Time employees = 88 hours per year with no cap.

Holidays: 11paid holidays per calendar year plus an additional 16 hours of Floating Holidays.

Longevity Pay: $2500 at 5 years of service; $5000 at 10-35 milestone years of service.

Flexible Work Schedule: 9/80, 4/10 and/or intermittent teleworking, where applicable and approved by supervisor. **

Health Insurance: Medical (Kaiser HMO), dental (MetLife PPO) and vision coverage (EyeMed) of which 80% is paid by Tri-City Mental HealthAuthority (TCMHA).

Life Insurance: Paid at one times annual salary, paid by Tri-City MHA with additional optional coverage available.

Additional Optional Benefits: EAP, FSA, STD/LTD & ADD, Bilingual Incentive Pay, On Call Pay, Employee Referral Fee Program, Loan Forgiveness, Credit Union available through CU of So Cal, paid time off for Continuing Medical Education (CME) and more.

**Availability of flexible schedule and days of regular day off is dependent upon the needs of the Department and approval from Management.
