Job summary

UCHealth's Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins is seeking a Behavioral Health Aide to support a safe, therapeutic milieu under RN supervision in inpatient, emergency department, or ambulatory settings.

The position is onsite with a day and night rotation. Pay ranges from $20.87 to $27.13 per hour and is experience-based. UCHealth offers a structured career ladder and robust benefits to grow skills and responsibility.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED, or UCHealth competency test.
• 1 year of related Behavioral Health experience required.
• Advanced CPI within 30 days of hire.
• BLS - card in-hand before start date; renewals must be issued by American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provides a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment in collaboration with the care team.
• Monitors and documents patient coping mechanisms and provides crisis intervention as needed.
• Contributes to care plan development and assists in carrying out the plan for assigned clients; reports changes in condition.
• Follows instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions.
• Works in a fast-paced environment with critical thinking and decisive judgement; minimal supervision.

Pay: $20.87 - $27.13 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Summary

Under supervision of registered nurse, performs services to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients with behavioral health needs in the inpatient, emergency department or ambulatory setting by performing services involving milieu management.

Responsibilities

• In collaboration with care team, provides a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment.
• Continually monitors and documents patient’s coping mechanisms and provides crisis intervention when necessary.
• Provides input and recommendations to the clinical team to help develop the plan of care and assists in carrying out the plan of care for assigned clients. Reports any changes in physical, mental, or emotional condition to care team.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED, or in lieu of HS/GED, satisfactory completion of UCHealth-administered basic competency test is required.
• 1 year of related Behavioral Health experience required.
• Advanced CPI within 30 days of hire.
• BLS - BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All renewals must be issued by the American Heart Association.
