Tri-City Mental Health Authority is a public agency serving the diverse communities of Pomona, Claremont, and La Verne.

Established in 1960, Tri-City Mental Health Authority (TCMHA) has been dedicated to providing comprehensive mental health services, helping families and individuals of all ages reach their full potential. Its services include psychotherapy, clinical case management, medication support, peer support, psychoeducation, linkage and referral, vocational training, socialization activities, and community outreach.

Position Description:

Tri-City Mental Health Authority seeks to fill one (1) vacancy for a Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) in the Adult Full Service Partnership (FSP) Department. The BHS provides rehabilitative support services to clients, facilitating behavior modification, skill building, and self-care and safety in individual and group settings.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Providing individual, group, family, and collateral rehabilitative support services to facilitate behavior modification, skill building, needs assessment, self-care/safety, and coping strategies; may include case management both in-office and in the field.
  2. Developing, monitoring, and evaluating client goals and progress, adjusting interventions as needed.
  3. Offering linkages, resources, and referrals to address basic needs and barriers to wellness, including food, housing, clothing, transportation, and financial resources.
  4. Encouraging client engagement and assisting in overcoming treatment barriers through outreach.
  5. Planning and co-facilitating group sessions focused on skill building; tracking attendance and following up with clients.
  6. Advocating for clients to promote inclusion in community activities such as socialization, employment, education, and housing.

Qualifications include equivalent to an associate degree in psychology, sociology, social work, criminal justice, or a related field, with at least two (2) years of experience in behavioral health support services.

Licenses and certifications required include a valid California Driver’s License, a satisfactory driving record, and a registered and insured vehicle. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and experience with Electronic Health Records (e.g., Welligent, Cerner) are essential. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
