Pay Range

This range is provided by Will County Health Department and Community Health Center. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Base pay range

$21.80/hr - $31.58/hr

Job Summary

Responsible for maximizing revenue through training, problem-solving, and applying advanced knowledge of health services, billing, and payer requirements. Implements quality assurance in billing procedures and collections. Knowledge of diagnostic and procedural coding, and payer requirements in medical services is required. Maintains knowledge of the department's computerized billing system, identifies and corrects complex billing errors, and prepares reports on deposits and payments to ensure system quality. Ensures the accuracy of computer-generated reports. Ability to work independently and harmoniously with clients and staff.

Schedule

Tuesday 8:30 am-4:30 pm, Wednesday 10:00 am-6:00 pm, Thursday/Friday 8:30 am-4:30 pm, and Saturday 8:00 am-4:00 pm. May require travel to satellite offices.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of experience in medical billing (medical division) or program coding/billing (non-medical divisions).
Requirements
  • Verification of U.S. citizenship or employment eligibility.
  • Valid Illinois Driver's License with minimum auto liability insurance.
Desired
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Experience with ICD 9 or ICD 10, Pre-Authorizations, and Insurance Verifications.

Salary Range: Grade 10 Hourly Wages ($21.80-$31.58)
