Job summary

Qualifications

• Previous safety/security experience preferred.
• Valid PA driver’s license is required.
• BLS certification or obtain within 1 month of hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitor behavioral health grounds and interior spaces to ensure a safe environment.
• Perform regular security checks, patrols, and surveillance via systems or rounds.
• Check patient belongings before entrance and document thoroughly.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, or emergencies involving patients, staff, or visitors.
• Assist in de-escalating volatile situations using CPI or equivalent techniques.
• Monitor and control access to the facility, ensuring only authorized individuals enter secure areas.
• Maintain accurate and detailed incident reports, logs, and shift summaries.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to support patient safety during interventions or transfers.
• Escort patients, visitors, or personnel as necessary.
• Uphold confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times.
• Report hazards, security breaches, or maintenance issues promptly.
• Attend required safety and behavioral health training sessions, including CPI or equivalent.
