Job summary

Columbus Springs Dublin is a behavioral health hospital seeking a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join on the Full-time Night Shift. The role focuses on safety, patient engagement, and collaboration with nursing staff to maintain a secure healing environment.

The ideal candidate will monitor high-risk areas, de-escalate crises, document incidents, and support continuity of care, with CPR and de-escalation training completed within 30 days of employment.

Qualifications

• Must have critical thinking and decisive judgment in a high-stress setting.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a behavioral health environment.
• CPR certification required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous rounding and visible safety presence throughout the facility.
• Observe, identify and report safety hazards to prevent patient harm.
• Monitor high-risk patient behaviors and intervene with de-escalation when needed.
• Engage patients with therapeutic communication to promote a safe care environment.
• Document safety rounds and incidents in hospital records per policy.
• Collaborate with nursing and clinical staff to support patient safety and continuity of care.
• Elevate high-risk events to the RN in charge and follow chain of command.
