Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted RN license in Washington, DC.
• Experience in psychiatric nursing or a related mental health field.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous learning.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook and standard software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments evaluating physical and mental health status.
• Administer medications and monitor responses with treatment team.
• Monitor vital signs and psychiatric symptoms throughout care.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient conditions and crises.
• Build therapeutic relationships to support mental health.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans with the team.
• Provide health education to patients and families on medications and self-care.
• Collaborate on educational groups on health topics and treatment planning.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) per regulatory standards.
• Assist in ensuring timely documentation by administrative staff.
