Job summary

Permian Basin Behavioral Health Center in Midland, Texas is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in a behavioral health setting. The RN will administer medications, monitor vital signs, and perform basic assessments under supervision of Nursing Managers.

Responsibilities include documentation in EMR, patient education, assisting with daily activities, and collaborating with psychiatrists to implement treatment plans while promoting a safe, therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
• Strong observation skills.
• Knowledge of basic nursing care and patient safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and documents patient behavior, progress, and responses to treatment.
• Administers prescribed medications, including psychotropic medications, changes bandages, and notes patient reactions in EMR.
• Assists patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and hygiene.
• Takes and records vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, heart rate).
• Conducts focused patient assessments, collects data, and documents it in patient charts for supervising nurses and physicians.
• Works with psychiatrists and other staff to help implement treatment plans.
• Facilitates group therapy sessions or recreational activities.
• Ensures a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
