Job summary

Summit Oaks Hospital in Summit, NJ is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a part-time role (24 hours/week, 7am–7pm, 2 days weekly) in its behavioral health program. This private acute care hospital has a long history and is part of Universal Health Services.

The RN will assess patients under physicians, perform safety checks, document behavior, administer medications, and uphold the hospital's mission. NJ licensure, psychiatric nursing experience preferred, CPR required, opportunities for career

Qualifications

• Current New Jersey RN licensure; BSN/BS preferred.
• Minimum 1 year psychiatric nursing, or 2 years medical/surgical with leadership and strong clinical skills.
• NLN accredited program preferred.
• ANA Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing certification preferred.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess and respond to medical needs of patients under the guidance of the physicians.
• Conduct safety checks and implement appropriate behavioral management techniques.
• Monitor, report, and document patient behaviors and overall well being.
• Administer medications and perform treatments as needed under the guidance of treatment team.
• Maintain the core values and mission of Summit Oaks Hospital.
