Job summary

University Health seeks a Registered Nurse to provide safe, compassionate nursing care in Behavioral Health at NKCH Behavioral Health in Kansas City, MO. This role focuses on patient assessment, care planning, and evaluation of outcomes using the nursing process.

The RN collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams, maintaining standards under the Missouri Nurse Practice Act and organizational policies. This is a full-time night shift position with a 24-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Current Missouri license as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BCLS certification.
• BSN or equivalent in a specific specialty preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
• Provide evidence-based nursing care based on patient needs and clinical setting
• Collaborate with patients, families, providers, and interdisciplinary teams
• Maintain professional nursing standards and clinical competency
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills specific to the assigned clinical area
• Promote quality improvement, patient and staff safety, and culturally responsive care
• Provide compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered service
• Participate in education, committees, program evaluation, research, and student supervision as appropriate
• Maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, organizational policies, and the Missouri Nurse Practice Act
