Qualifications

• Must graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license required by state of employment.
• One year of nursing experience preferred, psychiatric/behavioral experience a plus.
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required; First aid may be required per state/facility.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical and behavioral health needs and coordinate care.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and families about conditions.
• Follow nursing practice acts, facility policies, and procedures.
• Ensure physicians’ orders are legible and transcribed correctly.
• Assess patient status continuously and document appropriately.
• Notify physicians of significant status changes or emergencies.
• Complete admission and discharge processing accurately.
