Job summary

Shorewood Behavioral Health Hospital in Madison, WI, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our newly built 120-bed facility specializing in acute and outpatient psychiatric care for diverse patient populations. You will assess, plan, and implement nursing care across shifts, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to policies.

The role requires an accredited nursing education and an active RN license in Wisconsin, with CPR/de-escalation certification and at least one year of nursing

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license for the state of employment.
• Minimum one year nursing experience; psychiatric/behavioral or substance use experience preferred.
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required.
• First aid may be required depending on state or facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical and behavioral health needs and coordinate care.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and families about conditions.
• Administer medications and document controlled substances as required.
• Communicate with physicians and team about changes in patient status.
• Provide nursing care within the Nurse Practice Act and facility policies.
