Job summary

Coastal Pines Behavioral Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a new flagship behavioral health hospital in Northeast Florida. The role involves leading nursing care for patients, developing care plans, and educating families within the scope of inpatient psychiatric services.

The facility emphasizes high-quality psychiatric care and offers various 24-hour shifts, with a standard commitment of 36 hours per month (3x12) or a high commitment of 72 hours per month (6x12).

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must possess a current RN license as required by the state of employment or be eligible to practice nursing.
• One year of nursing experience; psychiatric/behavioral experience a plus.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and families about various physical and behavioral health conditions.
• Provide nursing care within the standards and scope of nursing practice per Nurse Practice Act regulations and facility policies.
• Ensure physicians’ orders are legible and transcribed per policy.
• Assess patient status continually and document pertinent information.
• Notify physicians of significant changes in status.
• Complete admission and discharge processing accurately.
• Exhibit therapeutic rapport with patients while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Coordinate activities of the unit as directed.
• Communicate professionally with patients, visitors, co-workers and others involved in inpatient treatment.
