Job summary

Generations Healthcare is seeking an RN to join the Behavioral Health Unit on a 12-hour night shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM), Tuesday and Wednesday. The role focuses on direct nursing care, supervision of Mental Health Specialists, and compliance with health regulations.

Qualified candidates hold a Nursing Degree or RN program, active RN license, and ideally 1 year in psych/locked facility settings. Background checks and drug screening are required.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved RN program.
• Must possess a current, unencumbered, active RN license in this state.
• Preferred, at a minimum, 1 year of experience in a psych and/or locked facility or hospital setting.
• Must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for behavioral residents.
• Must be a supportive team member and promote teamwork.
• Must deal tactfully with residents, families, staff, and agencies.
• Must be knowledgeable of nursing practices and applicable laws and guidelines for nursing care facilities.
• Must plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs for quality care.
• Must be enthusiastic about caring for behavioral residents.
• Background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Cooperate with resident services to coordinate nursing on the Special Treatment Unit (STP).
• Supervise day-to-day nursing activities of Mental Health Specialists.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards and guidelines.
• Review and update the resident discharge plan as required.
• Plan nursing services portion of the discharge plan as necessary.
• Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
• Complete injury/incident reports, as necessary.
• Complete and file medical forms, reports, evaluations, and charting.
• Protect resident health information and report violations.
• Maintain required record-keeping forms on admission, transfer, and discharge.
