Job summary

Legacy Community Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Representative I, bilingual in English and Spanish, to support on-site providers and improve patient access. The role emphasizes collaboration, scheduling, interpretation services, and front-line triage in a fast-paced clinic environment.

You will assist registration, manage referrals, document vitals in the EHR, and help coordinate cross-clinic coverage. A team-oriented mindset and strong communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • BLS CPR AED certification is required.
  • 3–6 months of related experience preferred.
  • 1 year certificate from college or technical school preferred.
  • Familiarity with Behavioral Health preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Responsibilities

  • Support Behavioral Health providers and ensure patient access to care.
  • Manage provider schedules and waitlists for patient flow.
  • Communicate with patients by phone and mail.
  • Coordinate language interpretation services.
  • Assist new patients with registration and risk assessments.
  • Process orders and referrals with accuracy and follow-up.
  • Document vital signs in the EHR system.
  • Provide translation support for monolingual providers.
  • Attend mandatory team meetings and make reminder calls for appointments.
  • Support operations with data entry and admin tasks.
  • Assist in triaging emergencies and perform medical tasks if qualified.
  • Travel to other clinics for cross-coverage when needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide essential support to Behavioral Health providers, enhancing patient access and care.
  • Manage provider schedules and waitlists to ensure optimal patient flow and timely care.
  • Facilitate communication between providers and patients through phone and mail correspondence.
  • Coordinate language interpretation services to ensure clear and effective communication.
  • Assist new patients with registration and complete necessary risk assessments.
  • Process Behavioral Health orders and referrals, ensuring follow-up and accuracy.
  • Conduct vital sign checks and accurately document them in the EHR system.
  • Provide translation services for monolingual providers to improve patient-provider interactions.
  • Participate in mandatory team meetings and make reminder calls for upcoming appointments.
  • Support Behavioral Health operations through data entry and other administrative tasks.
  • Assist in triaging behavioral health emergencies and perform medical tasks if qualified.
  • Travel to other clinic locations for cross-coverage when needed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BLS (CPR & AED) Certified required.
  • Three to six months of related experience preferred.
  • One year certificate from college or technical school preferred.
  • Familiarity with Behavioral Health preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Good direct and telephone communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a team setting.
  • Leadership ability for program management, growth, and development.
  • Communication/interpersonal skills with various ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of community agencies and resources.
  • Coordinate multiple activities.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish speaking required.
  • Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, and moderate concentration.
