Job summary

The Center for Child Well-Being, housed within the Department of Psychiatry in the University of Missouri School of Medicine, seeks a Behavioral Resource and Referral Specialist to support MO-CPAP and MHAP.

The ideal candidate will be compassionate, service-oriented, and skilled at building relationships with patients, families, providers, and community partners, with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or social work with licensure or eligibility within Missouri.
  • Eligible for licensure within 12 months.
  • Experience in child/adolescent and/or perinatal behavioral health is desirable.
  • Experience in primary care/behavioral health integration settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to MHAP/MO-CPAP calls, screens and triages needs, completes intake, and coordinates referrals and provider scheduling.
  • Maintains HIPAA-compliant electronic case documentation, including referral, follow-up, and outcome information.
  • Develops resource lists and maintains a statewide database of mental and behavioral health resources.
  • Provides responsive, respectful, and service-oriented support, fostering engagement and satisfaction.
  • Participates in team meetings and supports program updates, process improvements, and implementation of program changes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
