SUMMARY OF WORK: The Therapist will work as a member of an Interdisciplinary Treatment Team within a Primary Care Setting. The therapist will provide brief intervention services as well as ongoing therapy services to individuals with a variety of behavioral health concerns, including substance use disorder counseling.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensed Independent Social Worker (LICSW) or Doctorate in Psychology or Social Work preferred.
- Licensed Graduate Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Social Worker will be considered. Supervision is available and must meet all requirements for the LICSW exam after 2 years or less.
- Once LICSW licensure is received, the position will become exempt.
- WV License within their respective profession.
- A minimum of one year clinical experience is preferred.
- Ability to function as an integrated care team member.
- Ability to utilize technology for completion of daily work tasks.
Essential Duties:
- Offer brief, targeted interventions usually lasting less than 60 minutes.
- Provide short-term counseling, often lasting less than eight visits; skill in targeted, brief psychotherapy.
- Function well in a team approach; act as a contributing member to the primary care team.
- Effectively communicate and interact with primary care providers and assist in recognizing, treating, and managing mental health and psychosocial issues.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the identification and treatment of mental disorders and psychosocial problems.
- Address population-based care, managing a large clientele efficiently.
- Complete evidence-based behavioral assessments and interventions relevant to medical conditions, such as disease management, treatment adherence, and lifestyle change.
- Make quick and accurate clinical assessments.
- Document services in a way useful to primary care providers and management for quality improvement.
- Identify “at risk” clients to prevent further deterioration.
- Manage clients with chronic emotional and/or health problems effectively.
- Provide timely feedback to primary care providers, including treatment recommendations and progress updates.
- Document in the client’s behavioral health record.
- Establish rapport quickly with a wide range of people.
