Job summary

County of San Benito is seeking a temporary, extra-help employee to assist in Behavioral Health Department projects, planning and coordination with technical input. Position limited to 1,000 hours per fiscal year, not benefit eligible, with tasks ranging from data gathering to public liaison.

Roles emphasize learning through practical work experience, with education commensurate to the assignment and a California driver’s license. Office and field duties may apply.

Qualifications

• Education commensurate to work assignment; no experience required.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California Driver’s License.
• Enrollment in school with a minimum of nine units when in session, or similar internship program.

Responsibilities

• Work with county staff to plan, coordinate and implement assigned projects; establish timelines and contingency plans.
• Provide technical input to projects using education and trained knowledge.
• Perform office and fieldwork assisting professional, technical and clerical staff.
• May liaison with other government agencies and represent the department to the public.
• Prepare reports, gather information and respond to requests; maintain records.
• Other duties as assigned.
