Job summary

Avera Behavioral Health Center-Sioux Falls seeks an experienced leader to oversee daily operations of the behavioral health program. You will coordinate clinical, operational, and administrative teams to ensure high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance.

You will supervise staff, manage budgets, and maintain relationships with community partners and external funders, while guiding strategic initiatives and performance improvements.

Qualifications

• RN license or equivalent required; active in state of practice.
• Active licenses for Social Worker, LPC, or Psychologist upon hire.
• Experience leading behavioral health programs; 2+ years preferred.
• Strong regulatory knowledge and ability to coordinate across clinical, operational and administrative teams.

A Brief Overview

Responsible for all aspects of day-to-day oversight and operations of the program.

What you will do

• Ensures clinical compliance with all regulatory agencies, governing health care delivery and the standards of accrediting bodies.
• Coordinates across clinical, operational, and administrative teams to promote quality care for patients.
• Acts as the main point of contact for community partners, executive leadership and external funding bodies.
• Maintains current knowledge base of clinical concepts, use of evidence-based practices to enhance patient care and services, reimbursement issues and regulations
• Demonstrates initiative in applying knowledge related to planning, operationalizing, and evaluating services
• Manages, supervises and coordinates day-to-day operations of the program to include but not limited to financial management, staffing and services offered by the program. Duties are performed in such a manner as to ensure the clinic operates in an efficient cost-effective manner.
• Collects data, prepares reports, and analyzes statistics, and answers correspondence.
• Demonstrates initiative in applying knowledge relative to planning, operationalizing and evaluating services.
• Performs patient care activities as may be required.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

• Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing An active license in the state of practice Upon Hire or
• Certified Social Worker - Licensing Board An active license in the state of practice Upon Hire or
• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) - South Dakota Board of Examiners for Counselors & Marriage and Family Therapists Upon Hire or
• Psychologist - Licensing Board An active license in the state of practice Upon Hire
• Minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training

Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

• Bachelor’s
• Master’s in behavioral science, healthcare related field or business
• 4-6 years Leadership experience
