Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Brighton, MI is seeking a Pharmacy Specialist for Behavioral Health Services to provide clinical leadership in pharmacotherapy for substance use disorders and psychiatric care at the Brighton Center for Recovery and across the Henry Ford Pharmacy Enterprise.

The role emphasizes medication safety, formulary management, and collaboration with psychiatrists, nursing, and hospital leadership to optimize patient outcomes through standardized behavioral health pharmacy services.

Qualifications

Must hold a degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
Minimum 2 years pharmacist experience in behavioral health, psychiatry, addiction medicine, or health-system pharmacy.
PGY2 Psychiatric Pharmacy Residency or equivalent psychiatric experience preferred.
3–5 years pharmacist experience or equivalent training preferred.
Ability to meet and exceed practice standards for a Level II pharmacist (Detroit Hospital only).
Must be able to serve as an institutional authority in a specialty area.
Strong leadership and teamwork abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for dissemination of information.

Responsibilities

Provide clinical medication management for substance use disorders and psychiatry patients.
Lead medication safety initiatives and regulatory compliance (DEA, Michigan Board, CMS, Joint Commission).
Develop and optimize behavioral health pharmacist workflows and formularies.
Oversee automated dispensing cabinet optimization and inventory control.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, physicians, and leadership to improve outcomes.
Lead quality improvement initiatives and pharmacotherapy education.
