Learn more about the Job:

The purpose of this role is to implement outpatient services to eligible children and their families, tailored to their needs. The Licensed Therapist provides clinical interventions aimed at reducing mental health impairments, promoting safety, and increasing family stability.

The Outpatient Therapist offers family, individual, conjoint, and group psychotherapy to support parenting and child management skills, fostering a safe and structured environment for community residence. The approach is family-centered, strengths-based, and encourages functioning in school and home settings.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct DMH Intake Assessments and Clinical Diagnostic Evaluations, coordinate treatment planning, and develop service plans under supervision.
• Demonstrate intervention techniques and behavioral interventions aligned with individual service plans and mental health goals.
• Provide various psychotherapeutic interventions that are school and family-centered, and strengths-based.
• Meet the service delivery / productivity expectation of 65% of a 40-hour work week.
• Complete documentation standards within 24 hours of service per DMH and CB policies.
• Engage system-oriented interventions involving family, foster family, and support systems, including collaboration with treatment team members.
• Provide case management as needed.
• Participate in supervision sessions and evidence-based practice groups.
• Collaborate with case managers, TBS Workers, and other therapists to implement treatment plans.
• Ensure all charting and paperwork are completed on the same day as service delivery, and billable activities are entered timely.
• Document all activities in compliance with California standards for Medi-Cal, Short-Doyle, EPSDT services.
• Attend training and participate in program evaluation data collection.
• Work within a multicultural team, respecting cultural and linguistic needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow child abuse reporting guidelines as a mandated reporter.

Job Qualifications:

• Two years of direct service experience with severely emotionally disturbed clients in inpatient or outpatient settings (internship/practicum may be substituted).
• One year of case management experience preferred.
• Master's degree in psychology, social work, childcare counseling, education, or development from an accredited institution.
• Valid California driver's license.
• Licensure as AMFT, ACSW, or Registered Psychologist with active status in California.
