Join to apply for the Behavioral Health Nurse Supervisor - Night Shift role at Nationwide Children's Hospital.

Overview:

  • Shift: 0.9 FTE (36 hours/week), 7:00pm - 7:30am, every third weekend.
  • Rate: Starts at $50.30/hour, with potential for higher pay based on relevant experience, plus $4.60 night shift differential and $4.40 weekend differential.

Job Description Summary: Oversees administrative and patient care services during weekends, evenings, and nights, coordinating hospital operations, patient care quality, and educational activities. Acts as the hospital spokesperson for external communications. Adheres to Children's Hospital mission, policies, and models the hospital values.

Essential Functions include:

  1. Serving as the administrative designee during off-hours, communicating issues to appropriate personnel.
  2. Ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
  3. Managing and directing hospital operations and staff during designated shifts.
  4. Assessing patient, parent, and unit needs; managing staffing and resources accordingly.
  5. Evaluating staff performance, providing feedback, and participating in hiring and disciplinary processes.
  6. Coordinating patient admissions, transfers, and discharges to meet needs promptly.
  7. Supporting staff orientation, training, and development.
  8. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a safe environment.
  9. Maintaining clinical nursing skills and providing age-appropriate care for patients from birth to 21 years.
  10. Leading clinical decision-making and quality improvement initiatives.
  11. Participating in budget planning, committee work, and research activities.
  12. Responding to emergencies and inquiries, resolving issues, and promoting customer satisfaction.
  13. Delegating tasks and supervising staff performance.
  14. Promoting a professional image and acting as a role model.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or related field preferred; current RN licensure in Ohio required.
  • Minimum two years of nursing experience; leadership experience preferred.
