Behavioral Health Medical Director- General Child Psychiatrist

Behavioral Health Medical Director- Child Psychiatrist

Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 3 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. Alternate locations may be considered.

Schedule: Fulltime position, Monday through Friday. Open to part-time.

The Behavioral Health Medical Director- Child Psychiatrist is responsible for completing medical necessity reviews for general child psychiatry cases supporting commercial and Medicaid business lines.

How you will make an impact:

1. Conduct peer-to-peer clinical reviews with attending physicians or other providers to discuss review determinations, and patients' office visits with providers and external physicians.
2. Apply clinical knowledge and skills to utilization review processes.
3. Adhere to medical policies and clinical guidelines.
4. Engage in clinical and non-clinical activities that impact healthcare quality, cost, and outcomes.
5. Provide guidance for clinical operational aspects of a program as requested.
6. Serve on internal and/or external committees as required.
7. Develop and propose new medical policies based on changes in healthcare.
8. Identify and develop opportunities for innovation to increase effectiveness and quality.

Qualifications:

• MD or DO with Board certification approved by ABMS or AOA.
• Active unrestricted medical license in California.
• Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience, or equivalent background.
• For Health Solutions and Carelon organizations, minimum of 5 years of healthcare provision experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Willing to obtain a California medical license.
• Board Certified in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (strongly preferred).

Salary Range: $250,236 to $428,976, depending on location and experience.
