Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following: graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting.
• Current certifications required: AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT. BLS certification required or obtained within 30 days of start date. NH Med Tech License or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license may be required for NH locations.
• Six months of MA experience or one year as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and rooming patients, recording vital signs.
• Documenting and reporting patient conditions, medical history, and treatments.
• Assisting with patient education under provider guidance.
• Preparing and disinfecting exam rooms and equipment.
• Managing supplies and maintaining a safe, organized environment.

Education

High School diploma or GED preferred; 160 hours of clinical experience via acc. vocational program or community college

Adult Education Medical Assistant program with 6 months of clinical experience

1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting
