Job summary

Meridian Health Services seeks a Medical Assistant for our Winchester behavioral health office. You will perform vital signs, injections, assist clinicians, and manage medications and referrals in a patient-centered setting.

Requirements include a Medical Assisting Diploma and CMA certification; new grads welcomed. This part-time role offers up to 29 hours weekly, with weekday hours (Mon-Fri 8am-5pm) and opportunities for professional growth within our integrated care team.

Qualifications

• Medical Assisting Diploma required--but we welcome new grads!
• Certified Medical Assistant with six months to 1 year experience in a clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Taking vitals and weight
• Giving injections
• Assist providers
• Pass medications
• Greeting clients
• Filling out insurance paperwork and prior approvals
• Helping the provider to complete arrangements for referrals, admissions and laboratory referrals
• Screen provider phone calls and assist with problem calls
• Give TB tests for employees
• Dispose of contaminated supplies
• Fax and phoning in of patient medications to pharmacies
• Maintain confidentiality and use good judgment within the limits of the CMA guidelines and follow department policies and procedures
