Job summary

PeaceHealth is seeking a Medical Assistant - Behavioral Health for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position in Oregon. The role supports physicians/providers in delivering patient care within the MA scope of practice. The position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement.

The candidate will prepare patients for exams, assist in procedures, manage supplies, and maintain EMR records while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure efficient clinic operations.

Qualifications

• Accredited Medical Assistant program or MOA option; MOA cert eligible.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a medical office preferred.
• National Medical Assistant Certification required (AAMA/AMT/NHA/NCCT/AMCA/AAH/NAHPUSA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Proficient computer and office equipment use; familiarity with billing helpful.
• Strong time management and ability to multi-task.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and record vital signs and histories.
• Set up exam rooms; maintain supplies and equipment.
• Administer injections; apply dressings as ordered.
• Sterilize and prepare treatments and equipment.
• May transport specimens and schedule tests.
• Maintain patient files and EMR entries.
• Screen patients by phone for appropriate clinical staff.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team for smooth clinic ops.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
