Job summary

Ohio Department of Behavioral Health seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to support adults in a residential setting at Appalachian Behavioral Healthcare Campus in Athens, Ohio. The role emphasizes medication management, hygiene support and safety within a structured community.

You will work shifts across days, de-escalate crises and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to implement treatment plans and document progress in patient records.

Qualifications

• License to practice nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Ohio.
• Proof of completion of an approved medication administration course.
• Applications reviewed with criteria: qualifications, experience, education and conduct.

Responsibilities

• Administers oxygen, wound care, catheters and medication, and observes patient responses.
• Maintains medication accountability records and reports conditions or reactions.
• Provides direct care, grooming assistance and patient education per treatment plan.
• Supervises lower-level staff and participates in meetings and trainings.
• Orders medications and supplies; maintains nursing station and cart.
