Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health in Washington, NC is seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Direct Care Technician to join our Facility Based Crisis Center. You will help create a safe, supportive environment and work with clinical teams to deliver compassionate care.

This on-site role offers evening hours (Mon-Fri 4pm-12am, every other weekend) and opportunities for growth through ongoing training in mental health and substance use services.

Qualifications

• Entry-level on-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Peer support or CNA certification is a plus but not required.
• Maintain valid state driver's license and auto insurance for agency vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment while providing client support, encouragement, and motivation.
• Facilitate psychoeducational groups, therapeutic activities, and leisure/recreational programming.
• Transport clients to program activities and appointments as needed.
• Assist with admissions, referrals, documentation, and coordination with community agencies and treatment teams.
• Support discharge planning, aftercare arrangements, and housing resources.
• Administer medications (when certified), monitor vital signs, respond to emergencies, and maintain accurate client records.
