Job summary

Haxtun Health in rural northeast Colorado is seeking a Behavioral Health Counselor to provide comprehensive behavioral health services, including assessment, counseling, treatment planning, and care coordination within licensure scope. You will work with an integrated care team to support patients’ mental and emotional well-being.

This part-time, non-exempt position offers a day shift and collaborative care across providers.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related field
• Current, active Colorado licensure required (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent)
• Strong assessment, treatment planning, and counseling skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage a caseload and prioritize effectively
• Compassion, empathy, and respect for diverse populations
• Flexibility to adapt to changing patient and organizational needs

• Starting Pay Range: $35.15/hr. – $45.70/hr., depending on experience
• Position Status: Part-time, non-exempt
• Shift: Day

Job Summary

The Behavioral Health Counselor provides comprehensive behavioral health services to patients within a rural healthcare setting, including assessment, counseling, treatment planning, and care coordination within the scope of licensure. This position works collaboratively with providers and interdisciplinary care team members to deliver integrated, patient-centered care, support patients experiencing behavioral health needs or crises, and connect patients with appropriate medical, behavioral health, and community resources.
