Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System in Boise, Idaho is seeking a Counselor in the Behavioral Health Department for a full-time Day Shift. You will perform psychosocial assessments, provide patient and family education, and deliver therapeutic interventions to support optimal care.

Licensed in Idaho (LCPC/LMSW/LCSW/LPC/LMFT) with two years post-license experience preferred; BLS at hire is required. Workdays are Mon-Fri, daytime hours within Trinity Health’s faith-based health system.

Qualifications

• Idaho licenses: LCPC, LMSW, LCSW, LPC or LMFT.
• Two years post-license experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification required at hire (ACLS/PALS exempt if already certified).

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychosocial assessments and educate patients and families.
• Provide therapeutic interventions to achieve optimal care.
• Document services accurately and manage resources for patients.
• Identify and connect patients with community resources and housing/SNAP options.
• Coordinate discharge planning and treatment planning with the care team.
• Collaborate with hospital staff to address emotional, mental, and spiritual needs.
