Job summary

Sharon Behavioral Health Center is hiring a Behavioral Health Counselor to provide direct care on the inpatient unit and contribute to individualized programming. You will participate in individual and family sessions, run psychoeducational groups, and assist with crisis and safety plans.

Responsibilities include documenting medical records, monitoring the milieu, and, when needed, performing mental health worker duties such as safety checks and 1:1 observation. All shifts available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health related sciences required.
• Experience or training in mental health care, including PTSD care and behavioral health principles.
• Crisis management training within 90 days of hire.

• Plan individualized, age-specific needs-based programming for assigned patients.
• Facilitate individual and family support sessions.
• Lead psychoeducational groups.

The Behavioral Health Counselor provides direct care services to patients receiving care on the inpatient behavioral health unit. They are an active member of a treatment team and is responsible for the planning of individualized, age specific needs-based programming for assigned patients. Will facilitate individual and family support sessions, psychoeducational groups, monitors program milieu, completes medical record documentation, and assists with crisis and safety plans for behavioral health inpatients. May at times be required to complete Mental Health worker duties including safety checks and 1:1 patient observation.

$10,000 sign on bonus with a 2-year commitment. ALL SHIFTS!

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in health related sciences
• Experience or training in mental health care, including knowledge of PTSD care and behavioral health principles.
