Job summary

TrueCare is seeking a Behavioral Health Consultant to work in our primary care team in California. You will triage and manage patients with medical and behavioral health concerns, and develop targeted behavioral treatment plans alongside providers.

Ideal candidates hold CA licenses (LCSW/LMFT/ Psychologist) with BLS, and experience across ages. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. The role emphasizes trauma-informed care and EHR use to support patient care.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology or PhD/PsyD in Psychology from an accredited program.
• Current LCSW/LMFT/Psychologist license in CA per BBS or Board of Psychology.
• BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.

Responsibilities

• Triage and manage primary care patients with medical and behavioral health problems.
• Provide psychoeducation and develop behavioral/therapeutic treatment plans.
• Assist primary care providers in recognizing and treating mental disorders and psychosocial issues.
• Identify at-risk patients and assess clinical status of referred patients.

Your Role & Impact

As a Behavioral Health Consultant, you’ll make a real difference in the lives of our patients by being part of the primary care treatment team, identifying, triaging and managing primary care patients with medical and behavioral health problems. This includes providing skill training through psychoeducation and patient education strategies and developing specific behavioral/therapeutic treatment plans for patients. The BHC also assists primary health care providers in recognizing and treating mental disorders and psychosocial problems, detecting "at risk" patients, and assessing the clinical status of patients referred by the primary care provider.

What We’re Looking For

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology or PhD / PsyD in Psychology from an accredited program.
• Current Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselorby the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) or Licensed Psychologist by the California Board of Psychology,
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers from American Heart Association
• Valid California Driver’s License, proof of insurance and clean driving record.
• Bilingual English/Spanish Required.
• Experience providing behavioral health services to a wide age range including pediatric or adolescents through adults.
• A general understanding of trauma-informed care approaches and therapies, Adverse Childhood Experiences and their impact on brain development, suicide prevention and acute crisis assessment/intervention.
• Computer savvy with electronic health records.

The pay range for a licensed clinician is $98,000 to $140,000
