Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking an experienced PMHNP or PA to join the Consult Liaison Psychiatry team at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. The role involves evaluating and treating patients with behavioral health needs in ED and inpatient settings.

The position requires NC licensure, PMHNP-BC or NCCPA certification, prescriptive privileges, and DEA registration. Schedule includes weekdays with on-call and after-hours coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be PMHNP or PA with current NC license and board certification.
• Prescriptive privileges and DEA registration required.
• CAQ in Psychiatry preferred for PA track.
• Experience in acute care, emergency department, or consult liaison settings preferred.
• Must be able to work variable schedule including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and consultations.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic psychiatric conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and provide medication management.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and dispositions.
• Participate in clinical education, quality improvement, and coverage as needed.
