Job summary

UCFS is seeking a Clinician II to provide clinical services to individuals, children and families, and groups for behavioral, substance use, psychiatric, or emotional concerns. The clinician will develop assessments and treatment plans and ensure discharge planning aligns with quality standards.

Open 8:00am–7:00pm with Saturdays on the 2nd and 4th weeks; part-time schedule at 20 hours per week. Responsibilities include on-call support, documentation, and coordination with external providers to

Qualifications

• Master's degree (MA, MS, MFT, MSW)
• 3 years of clinical experience working with children and families
• CT state LPC, LMFT, or LCSW license

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical assessments and treatment plans for individuals, children, families, couples, or groups.
• Maintain documentation to meet agency and payer requirements (e.g., DCF, DMHAS, CT-BHP, Medicaid).
• Assess risk and determine level of care for crisis or ongoing mental health/substance use issues.
• Provide on-call support during operating hours and coordinate referrals as needed.
• Collaborate with school personnel, DCF, courts, and other providers to support case treatment.
• Participate in supervision and coordinate treatment with psychiatrists as needed.
• Engage in trainings and staff development and work toward full licensure.

We are currently seeking a Clinician II who will provide clinical services for individuals, children and families, couples, or groups of all ages regarding behavioral, substance abuse, psychiatric or emotional issues through the development and implementation of clinical assessments, treatment plans and discharge plans. Billable services for a Clinician I require approval and sign-off from a Licensed Supervisor.

UCFS Hours of Operation: Open 8:00am - 7:00pm; Hours Vary By Day & Location

(We are also open on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month)

Expected Schedule: Part-Time, 20 hours/week

Outline of Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical assessment and treatment client centered care consistent with quality standards of care including evidence-based practices that result in improved health outcomes for clients.
• Manage and monitor individual productivity through weekly monitoring of short-term and long-term goals.
• Maintain documentation standards (inclusive of proficiency with electronic documentation) for all records required by agency licensees and payer sources such as DCF, DMHAS, CT-BHP, and Medicaid within a timely fashion.
• Assess level of risk and appropriate level of care with routine and emergency clients of all ages who may present in crisis with complex and long-term mental health and/or substance abuse issues.
• Provide on- call support on site during hours of operation for connected and non-connected clients. Includes, but is not exclusive to: arranging for referrals to other levels of care or emergency response, reporting suspected child abuse/neglect to DCF, adhering to legal and ethical guidelines for standards of care.
• Coordinate services with relevant providers involved in a given case within and outside of UCFS (e.g. school personnel, Department of Children and Families, courts, etc.) and support continued collaboration with other providers.
• Participate in clinical supervision, and maintain open lines of communication with supervisor and support staff, and coordinate treatment with psychiatrists as needed
• Participate in professional activities, including but not limited to trainings, obtaining full licensure, and the support in training new staff.

Requirements

Minimum Education and Experience

• Master's degree (MA,MS,MFT, MSW)
• 3 years of clinical experience working with children and families

Minimum Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Must hold a CT state LPC, LMFT, LCSW

Minimum Skills and Abilities

• Comfortability working with children
• Ability to effectively use MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, Outlook, Teams,
• Proficiency in EHR – EPIC preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Robust interpersonal expertise
