Job Description
Conducts abbreviated behavioral health evaluations to determine the most appropriate level of care treatment for pediatric patients starting at age 5.
- Conduct clinical assessments, including "return to school" clearances, with clear and concise documentation around presenting problems and clinical recommendations for pediatric patients in need of behavioral health services.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient documentation records according to policy.
- Collaborate with other mental health professionals, parents, school administration, and/or other pertinent collaborators to coordinate care.
- Conduct short-term therapy, when necessary, to help bridge patients to ongoing care.
- Provide support, information, advocacy, and guidance through the system and linkage to outside behavioral health networks as necessary.
- Engage with families; provide education, support, and crisis intervention as needed.
- Manage appropriate transfers to alternate facilities for patients requiring inpatient hospitalization.
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay current on best practices in behavioral health.
- Complete all mandatory AHS trainings and competencies as assigned.
- Perform all other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in social work, psychology, or counseling.
- LCSW or LPC license required.
- Previous clinical experience with pediatric populations.
- Spanish speaking a plus.
