Job summary

Therapeutic Health Services (THS) seeks a Behavioral Health Clinician at our Cloverleaf Branch in the Seattle area. The role provides on-site mental health and substance use support within LIHI-operated tiny home villages, offering stabilization services and warm handoffs to THS for formal treatment.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a social service field required.
  • Current Washington State Counselor credential or current professional licensure is required; MHP credential preferred.
  • At least 1 year experience providing counseling, case management, and group services.
  • Previous experience working with homeless or unstably housed individuals is a plus.
  • Experience with multi-ethnic populations and crisis intervention skills.

  • Offers individual and group counseling sessions during ideation (pre-enrollment) phase.
  • Performs mental health intake evaluations and collects psycho-social data to clarify treatment goals.
  • Provides warm handoffs to THS staff for further treatment.
  • Ensures prompt, accurate clinical documentation including treatment plans and discharge summaries.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday 40 Hours between hours of 7:00am-6:00pm.

Detailed Summary:

We are hiring for a Behavioral Health Clinician who will be located at our Cloverleaf Branch. THS, in collaboration with LIHI, (Low Income Housing Institute) seeks to improve the lives of those living in LIHI operated tiny home villages within our community. In our work with LIHI, we have seen safe, secure, dignified shelter for those who have been living outside combined with on-site behavioral health services as a stabilizing first step in the transition out of homelessness. In addition to supporting individual residents in their mental health and/or substance use disorder recovery, by providing de-escalation and crisis management services we are able to help make the villages safer places for all residents and help villages to be good neighbors in the areas where they are sited.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Provides on-site brief intervention, de-escalation and crisis management and recovery support at designated LIHI-operated Tiny Home Village.
  2. Becomes a visible, stable and accessible presence at assigned Tiny Home Village.
  3. Through progressive engagement, works with Tiny Home Village residents to identify and begin to address mental health and substance use issues which may present barriers to long-term, stable housing.
  4. Collaborates with on-site LIHI staff to respond to resident incidents and support resident compliance with Village rules and standards of behavior.
  5. Offer individual and group counseling sessions while residents are in ideation (pre-enrollment) phase.
  6. Performs Mental Health intake intakes/evaluations and collects and processes psycho-social data from residents for purposes of clarifying treatment goals and establishing preliminary diagnoses that may be required to access housing or other services.
  7. Provide a warm handoff to THS staff for residents who wish to pursue formal Mental Health or Substance Use Disorder Treatment.
  8. Ensures prompt, accurate clinical documentation including treatment plans, progress notations in assigned participant files; preparation of treatment contracts, letters, referrals, discharge summaries of terminated participants as appropriate.
Requirements
  1. Master's degree in social service field required.
  2. Current Washington State Counselor credential or current professional licensure is required. MHP credential preferred.
  3. SUDP/T is a plus.
  4. At least 1 year experience providing counseling, case management, and group services to individuals and their families.
  5. Previous experience working with homeless or unstably housed individuals is a plus.
  6. Experience in working with multi-ethnic populations in outreach, de-escalation, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution skills.
