Position Title: Behavioral Health Clinician
Department: Behavioral Health
Supervisor: Manager of Behavioral Health
Status/Hours Per Week: Exempt / 40 hours
Primary Function
The Behavioral Health (BH) Clinician is responsible for delivery of Behavioral Health services to registered patients in a dynamic, federally qualified community health center.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide psychosocial assessments and behavioral health therapy to individuals, couples, family and groups.
- Provide crisis intervention and information about community resources and services to Behavioral Health clients.
- Maintain individual caseload and deliver group therapy for children and/or adults.
- Attend multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and Utilization Reviews.
- Collaborate care with Primary Care and other departments as needed.
- Complete all appropriate paperwork and documentation in compliance with Behavioral Health department policy and procedures.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdepartmental care team meetings.
- Participate in oversight of Master’s level interns if needed.
- Perform additional duties for the Behavioral Health department as needed.
Minimum Basic Knowledge
- Master's degree in social work and current Massachusetts LCSW license, or ability/willingness to obtain LCSW within 6 months of employment start.
Experience & Qualifications
- A clinical social worker/clinician with solid assessment skills.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and integrated care is a plus.
- Commitment to community health/service, desire to work with a patient population with high needs.
- Good working knowledge of computers.
- Strong verbal skills, ability to communicate well and work well with others both within the BH team and throughout other departments within the health center.
- Bilingual language skills in Cape Verdean Creole or Spanish is desired.
