Job description

Join to apply for the Behavioral Health Case Manager II role at Elevance Health.

This role enables associates to work virtually full-time, with the exception of required in-person training sessions, providing maximum flexibility and autonomy. This approach promotes productivity, supports work-life integration, and ensures essential face-to-face onboarding and skill development.

Schedule: First shift daytime hours; 1 early/open or late/close shift will be required; flexible schedule preferred for coverage purposes.

The Behavioral Health Case Manager II is responsible for telephonic case management within the scope of licensure for members with behavioral health and substance use disorder needs. Subject matter expertise in areas such as eating disorders, maternity, alcohol/drug, autism spectrum disorders (ASD), etc., is preferred.

Primary duties include:

  • Responding to complex cases and account-specific requests.
  • Using screening criteria knowledge and clinical judgment to assess member needs.
  • Conducting assessments and developing care plans.
  • Monitoring and modifying care plans as needed.
  • Supporting member access to quality and cost-effective care.
  • Coordinating with internal and external resources and collaborating with providers.
  • Serving as a resource to other BH Case Managers and participating in team projects.

Minimum Requirements:

  • MA/MS in social work, counseling, or related behavioral health field, or nursing degree, with at least 3 years of clinical experience in social work, counseling, or psychiatric/substance abuse treatment.
  • Current active unrestricted license (e.g., RN, LCSW, LMHC, LICSW, LPC, LMFT, LMSW, or Clinical Psychologist) as per state laws.
  • Experience in case management, telephonic coaching, managed care, and working with complex psychiatric/substance abuse disorders.

Preferred Skills and Experiences:

  • Experience in health coaching and motivational interviewing.
  • Knowledge of working with diverse populations and levels of care.
  • Experience in behavioral health case management preferred.

Salary range: $64,980 to $123,120, depending on location and experience.
